Amazing and rare gem of a bookstore. The staff are so helpful and even offered a cup of tea on the way in to drink while we browsed the antiques section. Beautiful place where you could quite easily lose a few hours (and s)! Will be visiting again!
Excellent little book story covering all genres from nonfiction history and architecture to fiction like classics and poetry. Was greeted warmly on entering with on offer of tea. Staff were very willing to assist in finding what I needed. Most items are very reasonably priced.
Wonderful book store, we were living close by and went here three times, each time greeted warmly with free offers like white wine in the evening, tea when it was raining outside and good company. Also neighbour to a really great antique book store. Truly felt like home. If I'm ever in Edinburgh again I'll definitely return. As a wise man once said: "This do in remembrance of me".
It's a very nice little store, perfect for book worms and old fashioned writers (the writing machines were really inspiring!) I loved the very warm welcome, it's not just another store, it's a nice place to go. You can sit in different spots with different atmosphere to read or just enjoy a chat. I saw gorgeous editions and interesting books. Definitively in my to do list next time I'm in Edinburgh !
