A smashing sporting store with reasonable pricing. The range is so extensive, but my favourite buy still their comfy sporting socks. Also let me share a secret that unknown to many - i believe Decalthon is the only store you can get prescription swimming goggles from off the shelf.
We are very disappointed about this Decathlon site. When we came back to return a non used cooling box within a day after we bought it, we had enormous difficulty come to settle this. We got a return card, which the manager promised could be used in all Decathlon shops, also in the Netherlands where we live. Today we found out this was not the case. The staff here in the Netherlands (Enschede) took time to settle things and find a solution. What a contrast with Edinburgh where the manager simple walked away from our conversation and apparently had no idea about custom friendliness - let be good service.
After previously buying a bike that I did not test ride and subsequently discovering that it was unsuitable, I needed to either test ride or have the ability to return it for something else. Visiting Decathlons website seemed to provide assurance that I could return the bike if unsuitable. When I visited Decathlons Edinburgh store I was informed that their terms had changed and I could not return a used bike or additionally could not have a test ride. The bike person offered to give me a test ride inside the busy Edinburgh store where I then nearly hit a little girl and her father!! Are Decathlon covered by insurance If a cyclist hits a customer instore?? How can you expect customers to spend hundreds of pounds on a purchase such as a bike without a test ride or way of changing if not suitable?? I then actually purchased the bike online but after more research, discovered that the bike did not have enough gears...something that I would have discovered during a test ride!! Your competitors are offering a more fairer test or return policy.
I have shopped here since it opened and have found the products and staff excellent! Purchased a road bike after realising the dad bod doesnt disappear coasting down a hill.. have subsequently upgraded several parts on the road bike and had it serviced here without any issues/surprising charges. The clothing range is great for all budgets and hobbies. From memory the only place in Edinburgh to sell cast weight plates at reasonable prices!
Most very good choice of products however products need better labelling as I went to buy aquasocks and spotted socks which looked much easier to put on however while it says Boys/ girls inside card label this can't be seen on outside. The actual rack sign says Boys Girls and other? Not adult!?
