I have been a patient of this practice since before it changed from Lubiju. I've had adequate dental care for a number of years from this place, but recently there have been a number of issues that have got me so frustrated that I found another dental practice that is significantly better than this place. Some of the issues I've had here:- My main dentist left and was never informed. The practice has also changed brand/name/management about 3 times since I've been a patient.- Keep getting told from my dentist that they have referred me to the dental hospital - however have been waiting 4 months for nothing with painful wisdom teeth, hospital phones me and tells me the dentist has only just referred me after 4 months.- Dentist seems to dissuade private treatment. Why?? It's more money for you.- Having been to another dentist to get another opinion, I can tell you that the level of care/information you get from this place is very sub standard compared to past levels.- Receptionists are often quite rude when phoning up for an appointment.Shame to say I used to like this place, however think it will be the last time I go back here.
I I've been a patient since Lubiju were Drake Dental Practice. Their new premises are indeed ' swanky ' and I often tell folk that I have the best dentist in Edinburgh. I used to be treated by Biju and then Annette - both were great. Hopefully today will be great also.
Absolutely wonderful ! I'm a nervous patient and they put you at your ease !
I was with this practice for 13 years and sang its praises to all I met. Since Biju took a back seat with the surgery it has became yet another dentist which does work that isn't required. ^ months later, they want to do another 550 work and I now no longer trust whether that work actually does need done. My name is in their testimonials, I no longer hold the opinion that they have published on their website. I prefer to line my own pockets with my hard earned cash, thanks.
I was originally a patient of Drake Dental Practice with the NHS but this subsequently split and I was moved with my dentist to Lubiju (still with the NHS). My first impression when entering the new premises was "swanky" - which seems a very odd description for a dentist - but then I think this premises also does a lot of the cosmetic dentistry and so, it's gone for the cosmetic private look. My dentist (Annette) is excellent. Before coming to her I had been in Glasgow and had gone for a check up with Boots Dentists who advised that I "needed" a whole host of treatments that would cost a fortune. Annette informed me that the majority of these were completely unnecessary and treated too early would create more problems than they would solve (to be clear, when I first came to her I was a private patient too - so she wasn't after my cash like the previous lot) - so I instantly trusted her. She's a brilliant dentist. The new premises is also really cool in that they have a tv hanging from the ceiling so you can watch the national geographic channel when your teeth are being inspected - great for taking your mind off what's going on!
