One of the best museums you can go to and definitely a place you have to visit if you are a tourist in the city. There is no entry fee, tonnes of exhibits and lots of opportunities to take great photos. There is usually an exhibition on that you will pay more to see but the museum is so big that you can be there all day without having to worry about paying to see more.

Amazing museum, very informative and educational. Lots of things to discover, history of Scotland, science, wildlife just to name a few. Absolutely fascinating. There's a free guide tour at 11am. Our guide, Andrew was incredible, his knowledge of the museum and it's history was astonishing. One of the best museums I've have ever been to.

Well..what can I say...refreshingly brilliant!! LESS REALLY IS MORE!! By not packing stuff in to the rafters, like they do in London museums, it allows time to really see and absorb the items. Far far better engagement, especially for youngsters. Great mix of everything, things, like tech, really stimulating. Even had art and cultural iconic mix of ceramic, furniture, glass...just inspiring. To whomever coordinated and selected you did a great job!!

Great section about the history of Scotland, very enjoyable! I think if they made a 'trail' to follow for this, it would improve the experience, as it wasn't clear where to start each section. Other than that, the sections on the Jacobite Rebellions were full of rich detail, with great pieces to look at! And it's all for free!? Please do donate as it is such a great place.

This was an incredible Museum! I did not have enough time to fully explore it but enjoyed my short visit. It is free to enter although they do ask for a donation. It has lots of exhibits including the history of Scotland, a fashion exhibition and much more. It is very impressive to walk through and I imagine it is a kids dream. They have a huge room with all sorts of interactive activities which looked like a lot of fun!
