As a foreign tourist I am extremely lyrical about this brand new train station. Perfectly located and connected by tram, basically one footstep from the entrance. Staffed, so can easily collect ordered online train tickets. Friendly and helpful staff. Location most ideal for travels to the scenic highlands, so won't have to go to Edinburgh central first. Station a few steps from large grocery store and shopping mall. Last but not least tram perfectly connected to airport and super convenient to pay for the fare with cash money. You guys really planned this well. Way to go! Be proud! This couldn't be done in my home country.

A dystopian glass and corrugated iron temple to the soulless nouveau gauche style of railway station construction. Whilst South Gyle offers a pleasing collaboration of concrete and floral splendour, Edinburgh Gateway is a disappointment, its stylings mired in cliche of Portakabin-inspired dourness. One to avoid for all but the most jaded and world-weary of rail travellers.

Edinburgh Gateway is a brand new station that opened on Sunday 11 December 2016.This new interchange hub offers transfers from the ScotRail network directly onto Edinburgh Trams for travel to Edinburgh Airport.Edinburgh Gateway is a bright, accessible space featuring a booking office, lifts, escalators, waiting rooms, toilet facilities, as well as 104 cycle spaces.
