Undeniably, a great selection of rarer whiskies. But prices are extremely expensive. A definite tourist trap.
Buyer beware! Paid They charge higher than RRP!!! 120.00 for a bottle of whiskey widely available online for 89.99 (Old Particular 18YO 1999). They also own the gin shop and between the two I was overcharged over 50 - e.g. Edin Mill gin Scotland Rugby is on the Eden ill website for 34 and this establishment charges 39.99. I want to support local businesses, but this trader is a great example of why the High Street is dying!
If I could give them negative stars I would. Terrible experience! Didn't expect to encounter such a scam in Edinburgh but the Whisky trail is one. They overcharge on all their products, provide next to no assistance when shopping in the store and do not accept returns.Don't even bother going into the shop there are plenty more on the High Street in Edinburgh that offer fair prices, provide samples, accept returns and are very helpful!
First of all, I am not a whisky drinker but took my visiting friends here. Visited a couple of times and the staff was always friendly and got good recommendations every time. The prices might be higher than elsewhere but thats just a guess.
The tradition of whiskey in Scotland is something very serious. This shop has a wide variety of scottish whiskeys and with a very cordial service, ready to explain the details, characteristics, make indications, very cordial and friendly. Without doubt a great place for those who like to drink and enjoy good products.
