The Outsider is brilliant - the best value lunch Ive had in years. The dishes are thoughtful and well composed. The prices are truly excellent given the location and the stylish setting. Service is attentive and brisk. Full marks.
This has become one of my Edinburgh favourites in the last few years. Very central (next to Elephant and Bagels on George IV bridge, alleged place of birth of Harry Potter). Excellent choice of food, catering for many tastes. Nice atmosphere. Food served in reasonable time after ordering. Can be a little noisy in some evening. Notice, no parking space whatsoever: take a taxi or walk.
Got in early for lunch 12:05 only one other table occupied. Filled to capacity by 12:40. Great food, good range on menu and very good prices. Nice friendly staff. Coffees took a little longer than ideal but very busy by then and worth the wait. Lovely views of the Castle too.
Fantastic service, fresh, tasty food options. If you are sat at the right table there is also a great view of the castle. My party of five all thoroughly enjoyed our choices, and will make a point of eating here, again.
Had lunch here and was obsessed with this spot. The ambiance is incredible and I love the candle they light at your table. It has a great view of Edinburgh Castle too. The food was delicious - we had spicy tomato soup and mussels - yum! Definitely go here if you're near the Bobby. Make a reservation if you plan to go.
