Disgusted by the treatment of DJ Alexander staff. In between allowing themselves into your property with no prior warning, they have refused to carry out all maintenance and absolve themselves of all responsibility citing that because landlord isnt willing to carry out work then there is nothing they can do. After the staff recommend moving property, they have then tried to recoup damages from the previous tenants by taking out deposit. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Update 10/01/19 I have been letting the flat for over a year, and have continued to have a positive experience. I was impressed with how the inspection team-Liam Morris letting consultant and his colleague Katie and Property Manager Sean Burt handled arrangements and appointments for me. Sean was so professional, friendly and courteous. Katie was professional too and cheerful and polite to me as I asked for a specific time of day; she treated me respectfully and with good humor, and it made a difference! Liam also was professional, patient, and efficient, also very responsive and communicative in setting the appointment. It was a very nice personal approach, and it reflects well on the company. I like complimenting people who have such a good business attitude, as I like doing business that way myself! (At move-in time:) Holly Harrison and Blair Balloch were both professional, helpful, and responsive in assisting me with my lease and renewing it. Also others who answered my email questions about getting set up. DJAlexander clearly has an organized effective system in placeand seems to cover the territory very well with numerous options and offerings.
Avoid at all costs.I was with DJ Alexander for two years, dealt with endless different members of staff. Complete nightmare chasing problems. We moved into a flat which was dirty and in poor condition. Very few of the repairs needed over our tenancy were undertaken (those that were, were undertaken to a very low standard), and no cleaning was offered. Contractors used are of the lowest quality and required cleaning up after.Agency tried to take our deposit for historic damage and cleaning which wasn't required. Even after providing evidence that the property was left in better condition than when we arrived, we were still charged for cleaning.It seems the process they have in place is to charge tenants as much as possible to prop up their bank balance. I have no doubt that the previous tenants were charged for cleaning which evidently wasn't undertaken.Despite government efforts to prevent estate agents holding such a high position of power, this company continues to abuse it's position.If you *MUST* use this company, photograph EVERYTHING upon arrival and email this to the company as evidence. Never call them as these discussion go unrecorded and ignored. KEEP A PAPER TRAIL, and keep a solicitor on hand!Good Luck!
