We have stayed here many times while visiting family nearby. The staff at the hotel is warm and welcoming. The Internet connection worked well.. The rooms and beds are clean and comfortable. It took us a while to figure out how to adjust the heat in the room. Bus transportation to the center city is readily available. Although the breakfast menu has a variety of offerings they remain the same year after year.
We stayed for three nights over Hogmanay, had a wonderful stay in this hotel, friendly efficient staff, menu varied, lots of choice, food fresh and very tasty. Rooms clean, spacious and quiet. However the room rates were exorbitant even allowing for the fact that we expect room rate increases for certain events. The prices were over the top when compared to the normal rates at this hotel.
I stayed over Christmas. The hotel has been refurbished and looks lovely. My room was upgraded to a superior and was a super room with plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. The manager was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. The hotel is in a lovely area of Edinburgh with lots of shops nearby. I will definitely stay there again.
Great place to stay. Super bathrooms and very comfortable bed. We had a free upgrade. Staff were fantastically helpful and polite. Lovely breakfast overlooking a courtyard garden. Able to park in the car park. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Edinburgh. Within walking distance of lots of places to eat and the university - so very convenient.
Clean rooms, friendly staff. A great place to lay your head down while in Edinburgh. Situated right beside the picturesque Meadows. Breakfast was good, service was fast and i would recommend this hotel to others. Only downside for me was the heat in our room. Even with the fan on all night it was uncomfortably warm.
