Really enjoyed my room. Very spacious including high ceiling and a walk in toilet. The bathroom was lovely with a tub and great power shower. I will say though, this is my second time at this Hilton with the first time being a complete opposite as the room i stayed in was probably the smallest i have ever stayed in. Very puzzling. Also the Hilton grosvenor had two buildings. This stay was in the townhouse building. The first stay was in the building with the main reception. Not sure if this is a factor in the differential but i was pleasantly surprised.
We visited for afternoon tea - this was basic but enjoyable. The afternoon tea was served either in the foyer area or in the bar - we chose the foyer as it had more atmosphere. The whole area was very cold resulting in us having to ask for the heating to be turned up. The barman/waiter was amazing - attentive, informative, friendly, accommodating. He was an asset to the hotel and would return just for his service.
Quaint is probably the best way to describe the Hilton Grosvenor. Near to Haymarket and a short stroll into the city, the location is good - just away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Rooms are comfy and hotel is welcoming, just not as modern as alternatives, if that's what rocks your boat.
Enjoyed our overnight stay at Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor. Staff we encountered all courteous, friendly and helpful. Room comfy and clean. Would definitely consider staying here again if visiting Edinburgh.
The staff were amazing!! We stayed on New Year so the hotel was extremely busy. The staff were flat out but never dropped the ball once. Stephen on reception and Eric in the bar were both amazing. Always smiling and happy to help. Happy new year all!!
