Professional, warm and attentive Scottish service. Room had lovely view of the castle. Pompadour restaurant relaunched and is a tour de force of organic Scottish modern cooking (menu picture attached). Impressive and young staff team who make the service difference. Full marks. Great historic hotel in the city centre. Fab food and great bars. Great vibe during the festival and good for catching other home nations games, especially after a Murrayfield victory.
Extremely attentive professional staff who went out of their way to ensure everything was right without fuss . A beautiful listed building full of its own unique history. A piper on the door when we arrived and doorman and concierge available at all times to add to the excellent reception team This was a work visit but I would return with my wife/family
Beautiful hotel, excellent service. The location can not be better.The best smoked salmon anywhere! We still talk about their smoked salmon platter! Our family stayed at The Caledonian last October. There were 10 of us total, everyone agreed that it was a memorable time, and that the staff was very professional, helpful and kind. We had 6 rooms. Some of the rooms had spectacular views of the castle. The more affordable rooms were small, but well appointed. As a bonus, we enjoyed watching someone's wedding festivities, with bagpipe musicians and all. We highly recommend staying here.
Like the great architecture with a piece of history here. You can see the original clock and part of the old train station platform that was burnt down, in the hotel lounge. A cosy place to chill out. Friendly doorman, great choice of breakfast. Like the complimentary ice cold drinking water that is infused with different fruit daily, near the reception. This hotel will make a nice picture for take away of Edinburgh.
