First time visiting a Marriott and expected so much more.3pm check in turned out to be 4pm as the room wasn't ready. Not Impressed!The maid must've been in a rush and forgot to top up the basics like toilet roll and tissues. Walls had numerous scuff marks on them. The netting curtains had actually been marked by what I can only imagine was a black ink marker. Something had been splashed on the bathroom wall and not been cleaned properly. Carpet was grubby. Chaise lounge had remnants of a sticky sweetie on it. Couldn't get the heating to work no matter what I tried.I don't believe for one moment that all the rooms are like this and we were probably just unlucky on this occasion......but I didn't pay 90 for one night's stay to be unlucky. 2 stars for so so food and a good bed.Wouldn't stay again. #413
Great service. Attentive staff. Excellent housekeeping. The location is perfect. Next to the theater, walking distance to The Royal Mile, Princess St and all the historical attractions and restaurants. They validate parking so you get 1/2 off at the parking lot. We had a rental car as we traveled around the country but you don't need one here.We stayed here for Hogmanay and had the dinner and got tickets to the street party. It was a lot of fun and worth it.
Hotel rooms are good. Staff is friendly. In room dining options limited and no late night dining last oder by 2200.Restaurants also just okay with limited options. Buffet breakfast was good though.Bus station is just around. Nothing around the hotel. Suitable for transit as its close to airport.
Comfy quiet room with good quiet air con. Breakfast okay although sausages could have done with a bit more cooking for y liking. Nice staff throughout and spotlessly clean
Ideal location almost next door to the Playhouse. Very comfortable rooms and excellent help yourself breakfast. Just a ten minute walk from Edinburgh Waverly Station and of course the shopping on Princes Street. Highly recommend and would stay again if in the city.
