What an odd experience. I ordered a pint, got a half, and then basically got a 'telling off' because I wanted to pay by card for 1.85. I asked to leave my card and have a tab, but was told no (apparently because I wasn't having food)Shame really, because it seemed a nice place and the beer was pretty good, but I don't go to a place to be treated like a 6 year old
Busy spot on a Friday night, with a convivial friendly crowd. Nice atmosphere, warm and cosy, with a fireplace burning Plenty of ales, IPA and lagers on tap. Friendly service. Recommended.

One of my favourite pubs in town - always a nice, friendly, calm atmosphere and they're very dog-friendly, too. A really great selection of beers and whiskies always helps, too!
