Graeme, and especially Steven, were very good with answering my questions and making arrangements for my wife and I to rent a Mini Cooper for our recent tour of Scotland. The Cooper was great fun, and I'll be considering the purchase of one here in the states. It was immaculately clean, and practically new with all bells and whistles. Because I was challenged by the narrow roads and lack of generous shoulders, and by driving from the right side of the car on the left side of the road, I had a serious encounter with at least one curb, which dented the alloy wheel and messed up some other suspension elements (it's no wonder that Scotland produces some very fine race car drivers!). Steve and Graeme were very fair, even generous, in determining the additional expense to me, and then providing me via email with the documents I needed to submit a claim to my insurance company. And, just recently, Michael, another member or the rental team, made contact with me to make sure that I was satisfied with the entire experience. Both my wife and I were very happy with how we were treated, despite our mishap, and we will rent from them in a heart beat, when we return.
Edinburgh Car Hire is a fantastic company. Michael was very helpful. The prices are so cheap compared to other companies, trust me, I didn't believe it at first. But this company is professional and generous. My hybrid Yaris was a dream to drive and I had zero complications. The refund for the deposit took a few days which is amazing compared to other companies. I loved my Yaris so much that I feel like buying one back at home in Australia, although unfortunately the hybrid version isn't on the market here. They cater to young people as well. I'm 21 and had zero complications getting a car. All in all, Edinburgh Car Hire is the best car hire service in all of Scotland. I'll definitely be using them again.
It was a pleasant journey with the car.Car was smooth, nice and the staff of course friendly than ever! Cost is really reasonable and the communication in the email between us were also very helpful and effective. We will come back if there is any trips in the near future for sure.
It's useful to know that the car rental is at the BMW dealership near Edinburgh airport. That being said, my experience with Edinburgh Car Rental was the best I've had with any car rental agency by miles! The staff are responsive and very helpful, and the rates are far lower than any major rental car company out there. If you need to rent a car to go anywhere in Scotland, there wouldn't be any better options than this one. Low young driver fees and availability of automatic cars is a huge plus!
We had a really great experience working with Michael and Graeme. We felt well informed and looked after. The price (particularly as young drivers) offered was the best we could find anywhere! We were upgraded to a BMW, which I was a bit worried about driving on the other side of the road, but Graeme was super encouraging and helpful.
